The modem has to be activated. You can do it online or call customer service.
Did you try unplugging and waiting a minute and then plugging it back in? That would reset your wifi. If that doesn't work call them. When we first got it we had to call them and it turned out we needed to exchange the modem for a different one and we haven't had any trouble since. Also when first activating there is a number that you have to call to activate it. If they didn't give it to you or you don't remember you can just call Comcast. Oh and when we called they took up hours of our time trying the same things over and over and each person we spoke with had such heavy accents that we truly couldn't understand one word they said.. That's not racist it's just true. Good luck.!
