As others have mentioned if you're renting you have to pay however if you're taking a tour with them they will give you some basic instruction prior to the tour and that's included in the tour. The basics are not that difficult to get though although they also offer summer programs with advanced paddling techniques and how to re enter a kayak if you tip over.
They give lessons! Free if you purchase a kayak. If you're renting you'll have to pay. The staff is great and if you feel confident going out your first time and paddling they will help you get seated and into the water. Kayaking can be trial and error with paddle maneuvers but very intuitive!

Absolutely. The lesson is great because it starts on land where you learn how to correctly paddle, enter and exit a kayak. Then they take you to the water. Would recommend to anyone that wants to learn.
