I have no family in Michigan and no one but myself to care for him. He requires 24/7 care. His doctor wants only a RN to care for him. He was injured in 1990. Was passenger in very bad accident. No RN would take that small pay, average wage for RN is 40.00 an hour. I am the only person to care for him. I feel he would qualify for the catastrophic clause of the new law. We would not be able to remain in our home. I am now retired and the hospital has age regulations, like pilots ,

In general, under the new no-fault law a family member who is providing attendant care due to a car accident is entitled to at least 56 hours of attendant care payments from the auto insurance company. We believe that the 56 hour limit should not apply in certain cases. Instead, family members should be able to claim more than 56 hours per week. Please call our office at 248-352-7777 for more information. This is a very complicated legal issue our law office is battling every day.
