When they say mass in Latin, it means that the mass is in Spanish or basic Latin.

There are no Spanish Masses at St. John Cantius. Only in English and Latin.

Silvia, the Latin language is the universal language of the Church. Mass in traditional Latin is said by the priest in Latin and the congregation responds in Latin. But the priest also reads the readings in English before giving his homily. It doesn't matter if you speak Latin or not. It is your presence that counts and you already know what the Mass means. It is the Holy sacrifice of Jesus given to God the Father.

I did not know that they gave masses in Latin, very few people speak and understand Latin, it is an ancient language that is hardly used. wow
