Are picnic lunches still permitted on the battlefields? I haven't been there since I was a kid in the 1960s and I'd love to visit once again for a picnic lunch with my husband.

Yes! We have 3 picnic areas on our site- Washington's HQ, the Visitor Center, and the Gideon Gilpin House. No charge to walk the grounds and have a picnic during open hours. Groups > 15 will need to check in & pay for a grounds fee at the Visitor Center. Have fun and please keep the grounds clean! http://brandywinebattlefield.org/plan-a-visit/
