In Millwood there is a canoe/kayak launch under the bridge at the park. Much easier to get to and only a mile or so upstream.
We were there and there was only a trickle in the end of summer. Didn't look like it has much of a flow any time of year.
You can, but beware of the Mohawk Dam past the confluence, which will require a significant portage. I stopped here for a stretch break after the factory rapids while paddling the Kokosing Water Trail last summer and it was fairly easy to side exit and enter..
This is a tributary, not the river.
There is a trail to the river of a short Portage of about 1/3 of a mile
Someone told me there was a trail over to the river area. Planning for a kayak trip in June.
