If a resident is on the verge of becoming homeless what is homeless they will have a place to stay until I can get back on your feet that is not a place so you can live everyday you go there you sleep so wake up and you get out in the morning go find a job start working save money and eventually get your own place or try to get the place to do have back in order... it is not a place that is going to hand you cash to pay your mortgage it is not a place that is going to pay your bills but it is a place to stay asleep to get back on your feet and if you have an alcohol problem or drug problem that is their specialty that is mainly what they help... I came into town from out of town after losing a car not having a way to get out the mission became a place for me to sleep counselors help me bus passes once they heard that I was trying to get a job and where had worked lined up but they're not going to go out of their way to give you everything because you're not entitled to anything.
At Nashville Rescue Mission, we address homelessness and hopelessness in a way that is transformational and Christ-centered. We believe in order for someone’s heart to be open to change, we must first meet his or her most basic and immediate needs. Through case management, we assess each individual’s situation and develop a plan specifically for them that will take them out of the situation they are now in and help them make plans for a better tomorrow. Each guest has access to a case manager, however, they also have the option to deny case management.
I've volunteer at the mission once a month and the programs that they have available has been successful in helping someone rebuild their life. Not sure how the programs work but it is also up to the individual to stick with the program in order to make it.
I'm sorry to say,but unless you're in one of the programs they offer there's no much there as for them to help rebuild one's life.
