Refuge of Hope was founded in 2001, branching off from the original Open Door Chapel organization that began operation in 1986. ROH, following the Open Door Chapel model, offered a free coffee house, Bible studies, Sunday worship services, a mentorship program and Sunday afternoon meals. Today, Refuge of Hope has found its niche in Stark County and is focused on a food ministry providing hot, nutritious meals eight times per week and a men's emergency and transitional housing shelter. Dinner is served Monday through Friday at 5 p.m. and lunch Tuesday, Friday and Saturday at 11 a.m.
