Some of the staff are passive agressive and snarky towards the less fortunate.the minute you choose to volunteer for those in need your expected to be professional at all times not when you feel it's appropriate.

Through life skills classes we offer and connections with area resources, we help residents accomplish a list of items necessary to apply for jobs (obtaining proper identification, resume writing, job referrals, and interview attire). Our network of area agencies helps us direct residents to housing options. In 2017, we helped 126 men transition into their own apartments.

Refuge of Hope was founded in 2001, branching off from the original Open Door Chapel organization that began operation in 1986. ROH, following the Open Door Chapel model, offered a free coffee house, Bible studies, Sunday worship services, a mentorship program and Sunday afternoon meals. Today, Refuge of Hope has found its niche in Stark County and is focused on a food ministry providing hot, nutritious meals eight times per week and a men's emergency and transitional housing shelter. Dinner is served Monday through Friday at 5 p.m. and lunch Tuesday, Friday and Saturday at 11 a.m.
