Would I beable to use plates from another vehicle (one that is under my name obviously) and change it to another vehicle? If so, how much would it cost to do so?

The former title has to be out of your name, then take new title to bmv with your driver's licenses. They will look up old car model. You do not need old title with u but it needs to be signed off to new owner

I believe you can transfer plate to another vehicle you owe as long as the plates aren't expired.

Yes you can I transferred plates a few weeks ago I paid $4.50

I think you can as long as that's going to be the only vehicle you have if you own more than one vehicle they each have to have their own plates they can't go back and forth and I think it's around $24
