We went late (around 8pm) in mid June. The outside deck was full. We were seated inside immediately b/c the crowd was thinning. Our 1st visit. Our server told us you can call ahead and request deck seating if you wish. In mid-June there was a wait for a table during peak times. Right before we arrived a customer told us it had been an hour wait. For us at 8pm there was no wait.
No reservation needed. Go in mid to late afternoon
They don't usually take reservations in the summer. I would suggest eating before 5 or closer to 8. You have pretty good views from the majority of the restaurant though.
I would strongly suggest that you show up no later than 6 pm to get a table with a view. Not so sure that calling during the Summer will get you that special table.
You can call and ask for a table with a view. With a table of 4 it will be easier and quicker to seat you where you want.
