What and why do they need so much of your information from your driver's license typed in when purchasing alcohol? Shouldn't just your age be the only information that is important?

If you are finding that Aldi is the only company that does this perhaps you should check their website for frequently asked questions I could imagine they may have some logic to it but I haven't heard of any other businesses doing this.

Your drivers license goes into data base to check your age and status of you license

I worked for stores where we have to enter date of birth off of license. I can not see where they would have time to enter license numbers. That would be creepy.

Your info doesn't go into a database. The only thing entered is your DOB.

It's something some businesses require in the state. It's another way to verify validity.
