cascade opened late 1990s like 99 2000 I been going since they opened it's just been a place that kept kids off the street and something to do and it's always been fun no real history just the only skating rink close in the area and every time it's open it's a event 🙄 great music great people great vibes then they shot the movie atl there and they gave it a upgrade/ different look for the movie and it's been the same every since... I always called it my home away from home because I was always there and it just feel so good to be there every time i go and yes I still go from time to time when I have time and so does everyone else that use to go when I was going... I wouldn't kno dc young fly if I didn't grow up going to cascade ❤❤❤
My family moved to the Cascade area in 1967, and it was the most pretigious neighborhoods for the rising wealthy black entrepreneurs. I am not sure when this skating rink opened up but it has gone down and has become a place of the past. There's construction going on in the parking lot, and I am not sure what they are doing there. The interior needs extensive renovations /remodeling, as everything has tremendously aged. Concession food is fairly high, with a frozen slush selling at $2.50, more than at Quick trip. Guess they have to up the price to stay in business. I am certain that back in the day , everyone who was somebody patronized this facility, as this is the only skating rink in this area.
T.I also filmed at this skating rink before
Rumor that Scenes of the Movie Roll Bounce involving famous rapper Bow Wow was filmed at Cascade.
I wathed the movie, very good
Here's what I found out so far..Cascade Family Skating Rink popular for its late 1980’s and 1990’s early rise in the Atlanta hip- hop scene. While on the rise and early in their career; music industry exec and Hip- Hop legend Jermaine Dupri, producer Dallas Austin, and the members of TLC could be found at the rink. In 2006, ATL’s own T.I a rapper starred in the film ‘ATL’ filmed at Cascades. The film loosely based on Dallas Austin and Tionne ‘T-Boz’ Watkins is a coming of age film which helped make the “round the way girl” as cool as going to college.
I really don't
