In a worse case scenario, you will be given store credit towards your next purchase. When you go into the store go to the customer service/return desk and make sure you have your ID.
Call ahead and share that your receipt has been misplaced. They can usually trace when and what time you purchased it, and what form of payment you used. Be prepared to answer questions to legitimize your purchase, then potential exchange. Be patient and polite. If 'NO' is their answer--your effort was still a good one, even if you failed to gain what you desired.
I am not sure if they will accept it back without a receipt I would suggest calling the store and asking for the customer service supervisor before I made a trip
