Paying donors for plasma is prohibited by law, I believe. CSL pays donors to "compensate them for their time".
If they are paying people "for their time" instead of buying plasma, why should a person's body weight dictate how much they are paid?

It is because the more you weigh, the more you are able to donate and consequently, the longer you will be there

I am not aware of any South Carolina law making illegal to pay for plasma. You are being compensated based on the quantity of your donation.
