Animal Cruelty at the Norwalk Boat Show: Is anyone else troubled by the plan to drag a squirrel through the water, supposedly on water skis? The poor little animal must be terrified, and with good reason since it could be badly hurt. It’s sad.

Dorothy how about you come see how these animals are taken care of. They are loved, feed, and are very well taken care of. They enjoy it and are very loving little creature's. They have freedom in how they live and are not mistreated in any way! Come see the show for yourself. It's not different then domestication of cat's and dogs! The owners are great people and bring alot of joy to others! Look on the bright side of it!

Hi Dorothy, We appreciate you sharing your thoughts. Please know that the Norwalk Boat Show considers all features and partners carefully. We have worked with Twiggy and the family who runs Twiggy’s, Inc. for years. Their mission is to rescue and rehabilitate injured and abandoned squirrels. The Best family, who started Twiggy Waterskiing over 40 years ago, regularly rehabilitates these squirrels and releases most back into the wild, keeping only those who cannot be rehabilitated. Some of those learn to waterski as part of their other mission to educate audiences about the importance of water safety.
