Can I fax something from there?
The school district you live in and/or own property in generally determines which is your "home library" and that's where you would start for a library card. (Miller Place and Mt. Sinai School district households can choose once a year to join either the Comsewogue or the Port Jefferson public libraries.) Once you have a library card from your home library, it's important to note that Public libraries in Suffolk County generally offer reciprocity re: borrowing from collections. Each library decides which collections (if any) may NOT be borrowed by members of other libraries. For the most part, libraries look to share the majority of their collections through direct access with all members of Suffolk County public libraries. Check with each individual library to learn its borrowing policies.
I believe you can, but I don't think you can get a card at both. Comsewogue library I believe is a county wide library card. I think Port Jeff is strictly for them.
You could. You could also sign up at the Port Jeff Lib and are able to take out items from any library on the island, Comsewogue included.
