Even if they do scatter, call them out on it anyway and get them to work...don't wait for them to come to your aid, hunt them down...
You could expend hours waiting for someone to load drywall for you, like if you are getting it free. The young employees would harass women and refrain when they see they are accompanied. You could ask a lumber employee where are the LVL's, they will laugh at you, saying that doesn't exist. Only upside is that you scan your merchandise and they don't care that you might have just forgotten to scan something :). Don't expect to be treated right.

I actually had a good experience when I was last there. We had asked for help that person couldn't help us; however, he directed us to someone who could. I beleive it just depends on who you fall on.
The younger generation is lazy
We also had terrible service there....I'm massively pregnant and would anyone help me cut a peice of lumber? Nope.
