The Peninsula Regional Animal Shelter (PRAS) is an open admission shelter for citizens of York Co, Poquoson, Hampton, and Newport News. On our website www.peninsulaanimalshelter.com there are many great resources, including a list of pet friendly housing in the area. We do ask that you reach out to the shelter at 757-933-8900 Option #7 and speak to a team member that can answer any questions. PRAS is legally obligated to make space for stray animals found in the areas, so euthanasia is a possibility, we ask that you be patient while we add you to a wait list, and utilize the resources available on our website to rehome your animal in the meantime.
