An Enhanced License can be used as ID to cross the borders into Canada and Mexico. You can also use the Enhanced License to travel by sea to US territories. You can't do that with the Real ID. Either license is accepted to board domestic US flights and for access to federal buildings.
Difference is "enhanced ID" can be used for Federal purposes. Has USA flag. Real ID with star is more state. Both are good for TSA travel
