I was there twice in the last month for inspection. No appointment either time. First time I failed with a check engine light on. Second time passed. The second time was 12/31 and Again, no appointment was made. And on another note, I bought FIXD. It's an adapter yoouuu plug into your car, download the app and it will tell you what the check engine light problem is. Mine was minor so within the app I was able to reset the code and turn off the light. I passed.
Appointments are required but not necessary. You can set an appointment off the website. If you are there for opening, you can get seen in a few minutes in between appointments.
