I would highly recommend reading "The Family: A Proclamation to the World". It is a document that explains in detail the beliefs of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints regarding marriage and family.
We believe that family is central to God's plan forall human family. We believe that because of the atonement Jesus Christ, all human beings will have the opportunity go back to live with God. We believe God created man and woman and each has individual characteristics that make them different. We believe that marriage between a man and woman is ordained of God for the purposes of helping to bring the spirit children of God to the world. Because of that all lives are sacred. Children are sacred gift from God and life does not begin at conception. Lastly, we believe that mankind will be published for their own sins and not for Adams transgressions. Huge question. We believe a husband and wife can be sealed together for time and all eternity. We believe families can be together in this world and the next. We do not practice plural marriage. we believe in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.
