** Update: This review is from about October 2015. The review may not reflect the current state of The Met Church. ** Where to begin? I had high hopes for The Met but was quickly disappointed. My wife and I knew no one there so a little friendliness might've gone a long way. There was no greeter at the doors we were entering, just a single greeter at the doors next to us with that greeter engaged in a conversation with someone. We got a, "I see you there" finger wave from the greeter but that was all. Upon entering the auditorium, an usher quickly made her way to my wife and informed her that she cannot bring in her bottle of water and offered to hold it somewhere else for her. No thank you. The worship started with a BANG. Good grief the worship band was loud, scared us when the first note caught us by surprise. I'm no music prude, I've been a rock musician for almost 30 years and it was still really loud. The worship is very showy with light show, etc. If I wanted that, I would attend a Christian concert. I'm not opposed to lights and all but IMO that should be for special events. Couldn't wait to get out of there and never going back. There are plenty of churches in the area, I would not recommend this one.

These folks accept anyone close by that are in need of groceries and when available, pet food. If you are on a fixed income or can't make it week to week with your grocery needs, please call them and arrange an appointment. They will definitely help you out.

Yes anyone can go... But u have to schedule your time on Saturday..so they know how many to expect... I believe they go in first sign up order... Just call the met and they will direct u to the group leader over the food pantry... God bless and have a great weekend.... Hope we see u at met services this weekend

I go to Southside community Center on Bowie when you need or running low on food, toiletries also clothes. And shoes .Very nice people there extremely helpful with resources .
They will have services this Monday for Christmas Eve at 1 p.m., 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. on the 24th. In addition, they will have service tonight at 5 p.m. as well as Sunday at 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m.
On the 24th at 1pm, 3pm and 5pm.
