14 days
I worked there briefly as a temp. I asked the same question a few times. I was never given a specific answer like say 10 days or so. What I did noticed and verified by others who had been there longer is this...older animals (they can be older than a year), sick ones and/or been there too long get put down faster. Its all about cost effectiveness and space. Puppies and kittens are adopted a lot faster. Its one of the reasons the "nursery" area is smaller than the rest. When the "executioner" (thats what I call him") wearing his dark grey uniform shows up its over for some. He goes for the ones in quarantine first, old ones then the one know seems to be interested in adopting.
