My 11 year old mixed breed female was attacked by my neighbors pit bull yesterday and she has a small patch of skin ripped off i cleaned it and wrapped it but shes acting a bit painful. How do i know if she needs stitches or more care?

Obviously if the cost of taking the dog to a vet was not an issue you would have done so already. Maybe depending on the circumstances of the attack you could ask the neighbor if they are willing to pay a portion of the bill. You'll probably need to reporrt this incident to the authorities if you have not done so already

You should take your baby in to see a veterinarian because any open wound risks infection without proper treatment. We do not charge an emergency fee at any time so it does not matter when you bring your pet in, prices are the same 24/7.

Yes. Neel is pricey but they'll help you with care credit. Okc animal hospital is also good. Neel has a premium charge after 11pm so go before then. They'll probably clean the wound & give you some antibiotics for your baby and send you home with the collar of shame lol. They're wonderful & will work with you. Def. ask the neighbor for help with the bill.

Cleaning and wrapping can breed infection that could take her fast. The only way to know her true condition is to take her in. Neel's is open 24x7... best to go asap. So sorry this happened. Sending prayers.
