My husband and I took our two sons and our 3 nieces this summer on the 4th of July it was pretty awesome and the fire works all around the bay was amazing ....it was crazy crowded with people of all ages but its always crowded dose not matter what day of the week or month!
Well that depends if you want to be there when it opens Id try to get to parking 30 min beforehand.
