Maybe someone wanted to stop in and get one thing they needed? Same as too, why do people show or call in restaurants 10 minutes before closing? If you're going to close earlier, probably should change your hours then.
We do not close early.. if we close at 10 we do an over head page saying the store will be closing in 10 mins so at 9:50 and then again at 9:58 we will do a page and say to please bring your stuff to the front to be cashed out. But we do not close the doors 10 mins early!
Unfortunately, most store's do this because of alarms and patrons in the store checking out. Coming from someone who worked retail for a few year's. It was store policy and not the worker's.
