Bcz they are busy. Everyone everywhere are short staffed! Have patience, go do shopping. Please.
Lack of staff. Plus folks that are working are burned out and are either taking on job loads for people that are calling in or even just taking on multiple items that their bosses are telling them to do. As much as it stinks it's not their fault a lot of people are not working right now. My best advice to you is to maybe transfer to another department to get your call answered. Also calling at a time where they are not as busy might help. Here on Google they have an area that tells you what time of the day a business is busy or not. Try calling then and maybe transferring to pharmacy who you know will be there maybe even Auto department. I hope that helps
