Someone gave me a dog that has a chip in him and I was told he was registered to apl and they didn't give me the paper work and we are wonder how to get the chip put in to our name because we are wanting to keep him

Any vet or shelter should be able to scan the chip, check that the dog isn't lost or stolen and give you the number to re-register.

You need the chip number to register it, if you go to the APL or any vet they should be able to scan it and get the number.
