I have a cat that I took in she was feral and within a month she had six baby kittens we cant afford to keep them but would like to keep one kitten and the mom what should I do

You do not have to lie or make up a story for Animal Protective League to take an animal. If you are honest with them up front they will be helpful and try to find the best solution to help you with the issue. They are extremely busy and full most of the time. If you say a story and not tell the truth then they may not be able to help you in the way that you need help.
