Can someone explain why no campfires at campsite? We stay at other gov campgrounds and they do allow it in rings. Is it that windy here at the campsites?

Jennifer roadcap yes it is extremely windy there it's pretty flat at the campsite with zero trees to block the wind and it's right next to the beach so the only thing that blocks the wind are the few campers and that's not enough to shelter a fire

Absolutely it is. Constant wind. Charcoal fires in grills are allowed however.

Yes and I think the permits are free during the off season and like $5 during the season!
