Jana I clicked on your name and I see you seem to ask the same questions to a plethora of churches. May I ask you what is it you are seeking? I am fairly confident you don't need 10+ churches to give you answers to the same exact questions.

Did you read the whole chapter? You cannot take the Word out of context. Paul is addressing a Thessalonian church. They do not yet have the Word in print. They are relying on teachings of Jesus and His disciples. Paul is a disciple. Read the whole chapter.. the answer is simple..Jesus is the Word and the Word was with Him before God spoke creation...Genesis. It never contradicts itself. Jesus came to establish the new law, the new covenant but never says He abolishes the law...just the ones made up by Jewish religious leaders of the time. They were not God's laws.
