We were there for a couple hours for under $20, about all we could walk but got cafe du monde, markets, the cathedral and square. If I wanted to spend the day and evening would park further out and take public transport to the French Quarter.
The price scales up for each hour you want to stay, also weekends are twice as much. First hour is $6.18/$15.89 Second hour is $10.60/$19.43 Etc
Well if you fail to get back in time to get your car, it's a $99 ticket. (We were two minutes late, and waited thirty minutes for them to unboot our car)
