No, you can not renew your DL at Newton. NJMVC has changed the way they do business. Visit the NJMVC website at NJMVC.gov There you will see the following message, "Don’t come in until you’ve checked! We’ve changed the way we do business." They also have a hyperlink that says, "Find out how to do stuff: The New MVC “CHEAT SHEET”" Take a look.
Newton does not do driver's license they only do registration titles changing the title into your name and they do license plates they don't take pictures for your driver's license anymore. You would have to go to Wayne or Lodi or Patterson or Passaic any one of those but Newton does not do photo licenses anymore and yes you do need an appointment for it you have to go online.
