The what a burger that they have in Texas is not the same as the what a burgers we have here in nc. But #10 you commented under is the best one you can find out here. Mooresville what a burger is trash i dont recommend you driving all the way to that one because you will be disappointed. The one in kannapolis on 29 (#1) and the one in kannapolis on main st (#10) are your best bet. And coming feom Charlotte, they'd be the closest also .

They have one in mooresville thats good and main street in Kannapolis and one in Concord and albermarle. Never ate at the one in Concord. But other 3 are great
The one in kannapolis on main street, you can go in and sit down to eat if that's what your looking for.
What do you mean "the real" what a burger? There's several what a burgers in Concord and theyre all the same.

The What-A-Burger (notice the hyphens) in Kannapolis has been open for over 50 yrs, not sure how old the Whataburgers are, but What-A-Burger #1 is the best
If your looking for good then try a different place to eat a burger. What a burgers are only still in business because they have a loyal following in the Kannapolis, Concord, Mooresville area, like Older people in their 60's hung pit there when they were young and want to keep the memories alive. I am 40 and have lived in the China Grove, Kannapolis area my whole life and although I do eat at what a burger, their food sucks in comparison to like say going to Chili's or a place like that. I definitely wouldn't waste a trip from charlotte just to eat at one. There is a drive-in on independence BLVD that has better burgers than What a Burger, I would recommend going there.
