Will you simply price match in those occasions or do you feel that is a race to the bottom scenario?
German Autoworks is a great place. I guarantee you as you work with them your car will be well maintained and at a lower running cost than anywhere else. They are very good and loyal to their regulars. And talented.
The dealer has gotten very competitive on maintenance items and we often find we are similar in price to them. Specially when they run a promotion. Where we are going to stand out is on repairs and specially large ones. Our opinion is a car should try and stay with the same shop for its maintenance and repairs for convenience and consistency. You might save a few bucks there now but will likely spend much more over time as the car has other needs. EDIT: reply to Shaunny. We have never played the price match game here as there is always someone who will do it for less and likely with less. We try to offer competitive pricing and fair value. We know what it cost to do most of these jobs correctly and with the correct parts. We understand that is not going to appeal to everyone all the time but on some level the transaction needs to work for both parties and our loyal customer base seems to agree with that approach. Thanks for the question!
