It was designed by architect Cass Gilbert and engineer Othmar Ammann; the original design for its towers was made of granite but due to the great depression they had to replace the granite with steel ... it was inaugurated in 1931 after 4 years of construction ... as we well know, it links the city of NY with the state from NJ through the Hudson River, it is crossed by the 95 (Interstate) this is a road that runs along the US coast. from end to end (from the Canadian border to Miami Fl.).
