So July 25th me and my roommate were in a fire and lost her home we are homeless and staying in a hotel the money that we got from American Red Cross has run out where can we get help until we can figure out our next step

So you need a homeless shelter, (look up Opportunity House) not just for a temporary place to stay but *mainly because you can't get access to any of the assistance or housing programs without a caseworker or therapist* and by staying at a homeless shelter you automatically have a caseworker who puts you into the system that Berk's Coalition to End Homelessness uses to refer qualifying applicants to different housing programs. you don't just walk into this place to get help with housing, instead they are an organization that works with all the different housing programs and keeps a list of people that need help. but again in order to be on that list you have to be referred by a social worker, caseworker, or therapist and then the people that work here determine your eligibility and priority status based on information gathered by the professional that refers you. hope that makes sense, it's kind of confusing but this is all concrete info.
