Thanks for input. Currently Philips is nearly empty with very little on show.
C. L. Freer did collect paintings by several noted American impressionists of the late 19th century, including John Singer Sargent and Childe Hassam. These are usually exhibited in the SE corner of the museum, next to the Peacock Room. For Impressionism in DC, I'd visit the Phillips Collection, the NGA, and the Kreeger Collection.
Hmmm. Was just there 2 days ago and no. There is currently an amazing Asian art exhibit. Blew my mind. Unlike any other Asian art exhibit I’ve ever seen !!! It wasn’t on my list of places I wanted to go but I’m glad I wandered in. The permanent collection was lovely too. Small museum. Manageable. I was able to fit in 2 other museums in that day!
