Yes it will take a considerable amount of time. They will make a couple of phone calls to confirm your identity. Also take other federal ID's that have your picture on it, like a passport. So go early.
It would be a great idea if you could get the ID replaced as soon as possible as TSA needs proper documentation of passengers who leaves and comes into a particular state. However, if you badly need to travel then talk to TSA officials. There could be a way out. Best not luck
