How can you bill someone for coming in but not actually seeing a doctor? My husband came in, got registered, called to the back, talked to a nurse for all of five minutes and then got released with a prescription.

I'd have preferred the extra charge. Blood in urine that the pa didn't address was a huge red flag! Plus the pa had to be persuaded to order a urine test by the nurse after being told of problems.

Unfortunately as soon as you put your name in the system and are seen by anyone you're billed for an emergency visit. If he'd been seen by a doctor it probably would've been an additional charge.
