My drivers license has been expired for 6 years, I have finally cleaned up my warrants and can renew. What is the process? Will I have to repeat drivers ed or take a test?

In addition you must have two proofs of residency. Also at DPS. texas.gov you can find out which DPS will be able to handle your driver's test the soonest. Sometimes it's a month out, sometimes only days. You can take the test anywhere in Texas

Yes; you are considered an original applicant. If you are at least 25 y.o., you can pay to take the written and driving test at the office. Another option is to take a six-hour Adult Driver's Ed course online, and then take the driving test at the driver license office. Please go to dps.texas.gov to view all mandatory requirements, to include documents, to obtain your driver license.
