You can bring just about anything that's easy to move, including lawn chairs, a cooler, a wagon full of toys, blanket, etc. The park does have a little or a lot of seating, depending on which section you're in. I haven't seen a personal canopy before and you may be asked to take it down. Setting those up can damage the lawn over time and could harm someone if not erected and secured properly. But, the park offers many shaded areas. Lastly, you can reserve a shaded area with lots of seating if you're having a large gathering, but I assume you'll need to do this weeks/months ahead of time.
Lawn area and seating depends on what events are going on. There is a moderate size field you could put chairs on that's attached to an activity area, and a second grass area that's entirely hills for a good picnic blanket.
