Hi Glen, while we do maintain a save rate of 97%, we do not use the term "no kill" to describe our shelter as the definition of the term varies between who you talk to. Some think it means no euthanasia ever, other stick to a certain percentage. We only euthanize here for extreme health reasons - we will not allow an animal to suffer, or extreme behavior issues - an animal that is unsafe to be placed in the community.
I've gotten six dogs there spread out through the years, it is easy to view and meet & greet them there. Some other organizations are good, but their dogs are spread out among volunteers where it is more trouble try to make comparisons. We've had good luck taking different ones outside on a leash and seeing how they act.
