Yes, in fact the day I went there was a quote free day however even on a free day the biggest and best exhibits still have a charge. The free day seems to save about $15 if you spend the money on the larger attractions anyway. However the freed they has plenty of free attractions to spend a full day at. Be advised though free day is the busiest most packed and least Pleasant time to view the museum

The MSI has 52 days off around the year. The day off is only for Illinois residents with an ID. The last free entry was November 12th. And you still have to pay for permanent exhibits. The free day only includes access to the MSI. Greetings.

They have 52 free days a year. However the last one for the year was 11/12.
