Best to valet. Street parking is metered.
My experience is that street parking is available most of the time but if you are going to stay longer in Piccolo Sogno it is better to give the car to the valet in order to avoid rushing out in the middle of an extensive evening

If you get the park chicago app you can find parking on the street easily and add $$ of your time runs out.
