All open to interpretation. My opinion is if you're at Dollywood it's a must-ride.
I would use the words thrilling and fun more so than scary and fun. That was my feeling as I immediately got back in line four more times.

We went on it twice. Fun, I think, but a bit of a surprise in a couple of places. It is dark.

Definately fun. As a person who travels the country and rides rides I feel I have a valid opinion. While fun, it does have 2 or 3 moments that are considered "rough". Leaning your head forward in the dark sections helps significantly. The pyrotechnics of Mystery Mine make it great, just don't expect the worlds smoothest roller coaster and you should have fun. Ride it early as lines grow quick due to its lower capacity.
