My lawn is dying in many spots...even though I've been watering like crazy. Could I be over watering? I'm wondering if there is a fungus or the lawn is drowning. I can stick my finger into the soil and it is wet fairly deep.

Check for surface feeding bugs like Chinch Bug and Sod Webworm and Grubs below the surface. We have granular products that you apply now and also a preventative product to apply in early spring for these types of turf insects. But for a thorough diagnosis, please call our store and ask for Jim or come in and see us with a 12" x 12" sample of the lawn.

Grubs or a fungus... Just treat for grubs, which needs to be done each year and see if that helps... If not antifungal

Take sample of soil, and have it diagnosed by the county agent. This is what you'll be told from J & J.

I would also check for grubs

I would check for grubs. Dig down 6 to 8 inches and sift through the dirt. It may be a bug peoblem. Rule that out and then treat for fungus and see.
