1. Send the neighbor a no contact letter informing him/her that they are not welcome to come on any property you own, rent, lease, possess or have control over. They are not welcome to contact you by phone, text, e-mail or any other electronic means nor by third party. Send this letter certified mail through USPS and keep the receipts as well as a copy of the letter. 2. Call the non emergency number for dispatch, 596-2222, and have an officer respond to fill out a harassment report every time the neighbor does some type of harassment. 3. Maintain a harassment diary which lists the date/time of every incident, a brief description of the incident, any witnesses to each incident and the case number for the police report of every incident. 4. Research and learn what actually constitutes harassment under the harassment statute in South Carolina so that you are not reporting things that do not qualify as harassment. 5. Other criminal statutes MAY be involved in harassment cases as well.
