You will need a Nonferrous permit from the sheriffs department and your ID. The permit is a permit to transport and sell all nonferrous metals such as copper, brass ect. You will present your ID and fill out a quick form at the sheriffs to get one. It doesn't take long and it is good for 2 years.
Copper is regulated by the Lexington County Sheriff's office. Best to call the Sheriff to sell copper in this county, they can direct you on what permits & regulations are required. I only sell aluminum cans a. $0.40/pound. I do know copper had to be regulated closely because a rash of gangs stealing copper from building projects near put several builders into receivership several years back.
